Reflecting On Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Each year on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I reflect on a speech of his that I find inspirational. This year, I chose " Our God is Marching On ." This speech was given after demonstrators that he led finally crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama. There were three marches for voting rights that month, the first was "Bloody Sunday" where protestors met violent guards who beat over 60 of them, including John Lewis, who later became a Congressman. My Statement on the Board’s Vote to Close Baltimore Collegiate School for Boys

Housing Tip of the Week: HUD-Approved Homebuyer Education and Counseling
One of your New Year’s resolutions may include buying a home. Free Tree Mulching Services
The Department of Public Works has Christmas tree mulching available at the Sisson Street Drop-off Center. This is an excellent way to reuse your Christmas tree once you are ready to part with it, and you can also pick up mulch while you are there. The tree mulching program will run until February 7th.
