Resolutions Requesting State Action To Protect Immigrants and Tenants

During the February 24th City Council meeting, I introduced two resolutions for immediate adoption. The resolutions requested the state to pass the following bills:

HB709 and SB651: For the purpose of enacting "good cause" eviction laws to ensure that tenants are not being displaced due to discrimination, retaliation, or arbitration.

HB1006: To ensure all residents are safe in sensitive locations such as churches and schools.

SB977: To prohibit sharing information with immigration enforcement officials.

The resolutions passed. I am proud to be the lead sponsor on this state action request and am grateful for my colleagues' support. I urge everyone to contact their state legislators to support these bills for passage.
