Remarks on Clean Corps and Civic Works

Last week, the Baltimore Sun and Fox News published a critical story about Civic Works, a local nonprofit that has provided tremendous service to our district and communities across Baltimore. Civic Works supports older adults through home repair programs, manages Clean Corps, creates green job opportunities for young people, and leads many other initiatives that strengthen our city. Unfortunately, this story appears to be part of a long pattern of negative coverage of Baltimore associated with David Smith/Sinclair Broadcasting, whose portrayal of our city often emphasizes its challenges while overlooking the many organizations and residents working every day to make Baltimore a stronger city.
