Housing Tip of the Week: Reporting Bad Conditions in Your Home or Unit
- Feb 9
- 1 min read
If you are a renter experiencing hazardous conditions in your home or unit, please contact your landlord. If your landlord is unresponsive, please contact 311 and create a service request. Reporting harmful conditions enables DHCHD to inspect the unit, and issue citations if repairs are not made. In addition, you can report your rental building or home to 311 if it is not properly licensed. It's vital for buildings to be licensed because it means that they have been inspected and meet health and safety standards. Learn more about how to submit a 311 request here.
