The Baltimore City Fire Department announced new smoke alarms for deaf or hard-of-hearing residents. These new smoke alarms shake your bed to alert you of excessive smoke or a fire. The previous smoke alarm had a flashlight; however, this is not helpful for residents who are deaf or hard of hearing, as they may be asleep and unable to see the flashlight. The Fire Department will install this new smoke alarm for you! Please call 410-396-5752 or 311 to make your request.
