Housing Tip of the Week: Homesharing

Rent is unaffordable for many right now. St. Ambrose Housing Aid Center has a unique affordable housing program called Homesharing. Homeowners can offer an extra room in their home to someone looking for an affordable place to rent. The homeowners who participate are often older adults. This helps our older adults stay in their homes while having someone around, and the renter can have an affordable place to live. St. Ambrose handles screening so that both parties are comfortable with the arrangement. The program has been a success for over 30 years. Read more about the program and sign up here.
