If you are in the process of purchasing a home in Baltimore City, please make sure the property does not have a Vacant Building Notice (VBN). Several vacant and abandoned properties are being rehabbed, which is exciting. Unfortunately, in some cases, rehabbers are cutting corners and are not applying for the necessary permits needed for rehabbing. Permits and final inspection are required to remove the Vacant Building Notice (VBN) on the property. You must discuss this with your realtor and title company.
