If you are interested in purchasing a home in Baltimore City, make sure to check that it does not have a Vacant Building Notice (VBN). We have seen several cases where a home is full rehabbed but still has a Vacant Building Notice (VBN) and the buyer is not aware until after they've made the purchase. Make sure this is not you! Talk with your realtor and title company. You can check the Codemap website, type the address of the home. If it has red diamond, it means it has a VBN. The contractor most likely did not obtain proper permits and did not complete the inspection process. If this happens to you, please contact our office and we will assist.
