Footage from Baltimore ICE Facility

I’ve seen the video of the horrible conditions at the Baltimore City ICE facility. A facility that was never meant to be a detention center, but a holding room until each detainee could have a hearing, in accordance with their due process rights. Yes, every single person on US soil is afforded the right to due process. 

Based on what was said in the video, there was at least one person who was over 80 years old, and several who were there experiencing abhorrent conditions for more than 10 days. We also know that they are moving detainees from the center into other sites across the country and removing people to other countries, all without due process. In most cases, they are not communicating with the detainees' families about where they are being transferred.

Such conditions are horrifying and are one of several instances where ICE is unlawfully using their authority to push forward this federal administration's agenda. Another killing by ICE in Minneapolis and the several people killed in detention, as well as the conditions that our residents are experiencing at the Fallon building, should make everyone sick to their stomachs about what is happening to our nation. We must stand up against this.
