During tonight’s City Council meeting, Councilmembers Gray, Parker, and

I will introduce a resolution for immediate adoption. The resolution is titled 26-0046R Request for State Action – Enact Immigration and Customs Enforcement Response Legislation. This resolution supports state legislation to ban 287(g) agreements between local law enforcement and federal immigration enforcement and to prohibit law enforcement officers from wearing masks. The resolution places the Baltimore City Council on the record in support of strengthening community trust, protecting civil rights, and ensuring all residents feel safe accessing City services. Please read the resolution text below:

"FOR the purpose of calling on the Maryland General assembly to pass and the Governor to sign legislation prohibiting law enforcement from using face coverings and legislation prohibiting specified government entities from entering into an immigration enforcement agreement and affirming the City’s commitment to the humane treatment of immigrant communities and the sanctity of our civil rights" (26-0046R, 2026).
